Swiss retailer Manor has reported a slight rise in gross sales of 0.1% for 2009 to CHF3.33 billion (USD3.07 billion), reports www.planetretail.net. This result is in line with expectations set in early 2009.
The group's core department store business, Manor, with its prominent food section, called 'Manor Food', is still the clear market leader in the segment and has generated sales of CHF2.98 billion (USD2.75 billion) and could thus reach the result of 2008. The fashion, and fashion accessories divisions as well as perfumes, jewelery, and private labels in the textile sector registered nearly 2% positive growth. The increase can be attributed to the brand strategy and the development of personal lifestyle private labels, launched two years ago. |
