Foods & Goods 2010: Visitors on a Rise!

With 626 exhibitors (191 of which were foreign companies) offering innovative, high quality products, the rise of visitors at this year’s Foods & Goods was only to be expected! 7108 visitors! An overall progression of + 15 % and an incredible + 29% increase of foreign visitors! The 2010 edition was an enhanced vector of exchange for both the exhibitors and the visitors.

Foods & Goods has become the unique and not to be missed event for consumer trends. The event is a gathering of 5 complementary sectors: MDD & DPH expo, for Private label food & non-food products; Pizza & Pasta expo for Italian gastronomy; Halal expo for Halal products; and the Snack & Fast Fooding expo for the snack market. The 2010 edition confirmed its position as a leading event for decision makers from retail, wholesale, HoReCa from France and Europe. All were able to appreciate a variety of animations, themed visits and conferences given by experts stemming from each market, making the show a real business platform.

MDD Expo

The main show of the Foods & Goods event, dedicated to private label food products, proved hugely successful for its 9th edition. With an important rise of +28 % of visitors, this proves that private label, consumed by over 73 % of the French population and representing 29 % of the market share, are more than ever at the heart of the strategy of retailers. MDD expo highlights included a B2B meeting area for the leading European retailers, over 250 meetings organised for the exhibitors, themed visits to guide buyers interested in organic, regional and innovative products; but also retailer stands giving the opportunity to meet decision makers and understand the mechanisms of European retailers. This event is not just a trade show, but an exchange platform. MDD expo will celebrate its 10th edition in 2011!

DPH Expo

The only professional event in France dedicated to non-food private labels had an increase of 42% exhibitors and a 17% rise of visitors in 2010. It was the opportunity to discover innovative and quality products, respective of the environment. DPH expo showed that the sector is recognised by the private label market, which is why the 2011 edition will become MDD expo, the private label food & non-food event.

Additional Highlights

The Halal expo show welcomed +50% of visitors for this sector. It benefited from exceptional media coverage. With an exhibiting space that has doubled since 2009, the Halal expo show confirms its position as the leader for Halal products in Europe.

Pizza & Pasta expo assembled all professions (equipment, professional centres) and Italian food producers, but also the best pizzailos in France for the finale of the France Pizza tour, compensating the gastronomic pizza of Rabah Zaoui, restaurant chef of “Les Capitelles de Peyriac” in Minervois.

Complementary with its offer, the Snack & Fast Fooding expo, the latest addition revealing new consumer trends, received a warm welcome and should take off in 2011.

Over 100 French & International press professionals covered the Foods & Goods event, of which approximately 20 of them were from television media.
